GLITTERS & GLOWS® ARROWWOOD VIBURNUM

Viburnum dentatum Glitters & Glows® solves the classic pollination puzzle by planting two compatible cultivars - All That Glitters® and All That Glows® together in a single pot. The result is a lush, multi-stemmed shrub featuring ultra-glossy, dark green foliage that serves as a high-shine backdrop for creamy white flower clusters in early summer. The two plants cross-pollinate automatically, so you are virtually guaranteed a showy display of metallic blue berries in the fall, which provides a critical food source for local songbirds while adding late-season drama to your yard.

The ideal spot for this viburnum is as a privacy screen, a foundation planting, or a mid-sized hedge where it can reach its mature size of 5 to 6 feet tall and wide. It thrives in full sun to partial shade, though you will get the best berry production and glossiest leaves with more light. It is highly adaptable to various soil types, including clay, provided the area has good drainage and doesn't remain soggy.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure it receives full sun to partial shade. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer in the spring and summer months. Prune in the late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
