SUNSHINE CHARM SPIDERWORT

Tradescantia 'Sunshine Charm' is a stunning, hardy perennial that provides a bright pop of color, standing out from many of its greener relatives. It forms a compact mound of grassy, vibrant gold-to-chartreuse foliage that maintains its brilliant color throughout the growing season. In late spring and early summer, 'Sunshine Charm' is adorned with delicate, mauve-purple flowers that create a beautiful contrast against the bright foliage. Unlike the tender annual, tropical varieties often used as houseplants, 'Sunshine Charm' is a tough, herbaceous perennial that brings excellent texture and season-long interest to garden borders, rock gardens, or container arrangements.

For optimal performance, plant Tradescantia 'Sunshine Charm' in a location with full sun to part shade and consistently moist, well-drained soil. While it is quite adaptable, the foliage color is often most vibrant with a bit of sun. Maintenance is straightforward; like other Spiderworts, it is a good practice to cut the foliage back hard after the initial bloom cycle finishes. This keeps the clump tidy and often rewards you with a fresh flush of new foliage and potentially a second, lighter bloom later in the season.
