SHAWNEE BRAVE BALDCYPRESS

The Shawnee Brave™ ('Mickelson') Bald Cypress is a beautiful, very narrow, pyramidal Bald Cypress that typically grows with a strong central leader to 50-75 feet tall and only 15-20 feet wide. Dense, green foliage turns an attractive reddish tan in fall.

The Shawnee Brave™ Bald Cypress is ideal for a narrow street tree or other tight spaces that can take advantage of its narrow habit. It thrives in full sun in moist to wet, acidic, sandy loam soils. It is extremely tolerate of salt and wet sites and also tolerates deer, clay, and erosion.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade, and ensure the soil is well-draining. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
