MISS CANADA LILAC

Syringa x prestoniae 'Miss Canada' is commonly referred to as Miss Canada Preston Lilac. This hardy, deciduous, fragrant shrub features red buds that open to bright pink flowers on large panicles. Possibly the brightest pink for late blooming lilacs! It has a wonderful, sweet fragrance and blooms abundantly - later than other common lilac varieties.

Miss Canada Preston Lilac is deer and insect resistant, thriving in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It dislikes acidic soils. It is ideal in mixed shrub borders, hedge and foundation plantings. When pruning, prune immediately after flowering as it blooms on previous season's growth. Ideal for sunny mixed borders or walkways - place in any spot where you can enjoy its sweet fragrance.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
