DIVINITY ASTER

Stokesia laevis 'Divinity' is a truly heavenly addition to the sunny border, offering a clean and sophisticated look that sets it apart from traditional blue varieties. This standout cultivar is prized for its large, 3 to 4 inch wide, shaggy-edged flowers that emerge a soft, creamy primrose-yellow before quickly maturing to a pure, celestial white. Each bloom features a unique, starry center that transitions to a delicate blush as it ages, providing a multi-toned effect across the plant. Reaching a height of 12 to 15 inches with a spread of 18-24 inches, it forms a tidy, mounded clump of leathery, evergreen, strap-like foliage.

In mid to late summer, Stokesia 'Divinity' provides a long-lasting explosion of cool white color that is exceptionally resistant to "melting" in the heat and humidity of the season. These nectar-rich flowers are a powerful magnet for butterflies and bees, and their sturdy stems make them an excellent choice for long-lasting, fresh-cut arrangements.

For the most prolific blooming and the strongest stems, plant 'Divinity' in a location that receives full sun. It is a versatile cultivar that thrives in average to moist, well-drained soil; unlike many other perennials, it is particularly tolerant of acidic soils. In the landscape, its uniform shape and bright white floral display make it an ideal choice for the front of a sunny border, as a high-impact mass planting, or as a reliable "filler" in a white-themed garden.
