DOUBLE PLAY® PINK CARPET SPIREA

Spiraea japonica 'SMNSJMFP' PP26995 is commonly referred to as Proven Winners® Color Choice® Double Play® Pink Spiraea. It is a Proven Winners® Double Play® selection that features emerging dark red foliage in spring that turns rich green in time for showy, bright pink spring flowers which attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. It has a mounding habit that is deer resistant and easy to care for.

Double Play® Pink Spirea is extremely hardy and thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. The Double Play® series of non-invasive Spirea consistently turn a fantastic double play with vibrant color contrasts in both foliage and flower.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun to partial shade, as full sun is preferred for best flowering and foliage color, in well-draining soil. Water regularly until established; once mature, this variety is relatively drought-tolerant. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth; deadheading spent flowers after the first flush can encourage a second round of blooms.
