CARDINAL ROYAL MOUNTAIN ASH

Sorbus aucuparia 'Michred' is commonly referred to as Cardinal Royal® Mountain Ash. It is a narrow, deciduous tree with upright branches and a very symmetrical habit. In spring, clusters of white flowers are followed by small, attractive, bright red berries in abundance which contrast beautifully with the dark greenish-silver foliage. In fall, the leaves turn an attractive bronze color before dropping to reveal smooth, olive green bark which provides winter interest.

Cardinal Royal® Mountain Ash thrives in full sun. It enjoys both dry and moist conditions as long as they are well-draining. It is tolerant of urban pollution and can thrive in city environments. This is a beautiful tree and ideal for shade or accent plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant it in a location with full sun and a well-draining soil mix. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer, taking care to maintain a vibrant color.
