REGENT JAPANESE PAGODATREE
Sophora japonica 'Regent' is commonly referred to as Regent Japanese Pagoda Tree or Scholar Tree. This refined and elegant deciduous tree is noteworthy for its faster growth rate, fuller, more oval-rounded crown and glossier deep green foliage. Its first flowering is at an earlier age and it has better disease resistance than other varieties. It features lustrous dark green leaves composed with multiple leaflets and clusters of creamy white panicle flowers in summer. Seed pods follow flowers in late summer. Glossy foliage turns an attractive yellow color.
Regent Japanese Pagoda Tree thrives in full sun in well-drained soils. It can tolerate urban pollution and can thrive in city environments. It is ideal as an accent or shade planting.
