Zone: 3CUP FLOWER
Silphium perfoliatum is more commonly known as the Cup Plant. This coarse native perennial features large, yellow flowers with dark yellow center discs. It can grow to 5-6 feet tall with a spread of 2-3 feet. Foliage is green and uniquely cup shaped where the leaves meet the stem. The foliage cups hold water and attracts birds and other wildlife to the garden.
Cup Plants thrive in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. They are perfect for the back of the border garden due to their height.
