PUFF PASTRY™ WHITE CHOCOLATE STONECROP

Sedum 'White Chocolate' is a delectable addition to the Puff Pastry™ series, specifically bred for its intricate texture and unique color play. It is a succulent groundcover that features small, tightly packed leaves that create a "puffy," cushioned appearance. The foliage is a soft, creamy celadon-green that, in certain lighting or cooler temperatures, takes on a pale, ivory-white cast reminiscent of its namesake. In late summer, the mounded mats are covered in clusters of delicate, star-shaped white flowers that provide a subtle nectar source for wandering pollinators.

To maintain its signature compact form, the ideal spot for Sedum 'White Chocolate' is a location in full sun. When grown in too much shade, the "puffy" foliage tends to stretch and lose its dense, architectural appeal. It requires sharply drained soil and is a perfect candidate for rock gardens, stone troughs, or as a tuck-in plant for crevice gardens where moisture does not linger. It is highly drought-tolerant and thrives in lean, gravelly soils with minimal fertilization.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in very well-draining soil with a slightly alkaline pH. Water sparingly, as it is drought-tolerant. Provide full sun. It requires very little maintenance - simply remove the spent flower heads in late autumn or early spring to keep the mound looking tidy and prepared for new growth.
