Sedum 'Pure Joy' is part of the Proven Winners® Rock N Round® collection and is a charming and exceptionally tidy upright stonecrop that brings a soft, refined look to the late-season garden. It is prized for its dense, rounded, mounded habit, reaching a height of 9-12 inches and a spread of 15-18 inches. Throughout spring and summer, 'Pure Joy' serves as a cool, blue-green focal point with its thick, succulent leaves that form a solid dome of foliage. In late summer, the entire mound is completely covered in a profusion of star-shaped, soft-pink flowers that create a bright, bubblegum-colored display that is a favorite for pollinators.
For the most compact shape and prolific blooming, plant Sedum 'Pure Joy' in a location that receives full sun. It is a highly adaptable and drought-tolerant perennial that thrives in average to poor, well-drained soil; avoiding over-fertilization is key to maintaining its signature "ball" shape.
In the landscape, its small stature and uniform growth make it an ideal selection for the front of a sunny border, as a clean edge along a walkway, or as a reliable filler in rock gardens. Maintenance is minimal-simply cut the stems back to the ground in late winter or early spring before the new growth begins to emerge.
