Salvia nemorosa 'Pink Profusion' is from the Proven Winner® Profusion® series and is celebrated for its exceptionally high flower-to-foliage ratio and tidy, rounded habit. Reaching a mature height of 12 to 15 inches, it produces a dense canopy of dark pink flower spikes that completely cover the aromatic, green leaves. Unlike some older varieties that can become leggy or flop, Pink Profusion® maintains a sturdy, uniform shape, making it an excellent choice for mass plantings, low hedges, or as a high-impact filler in perennial borders. Its intense color and prolific blooming nature make it a top performer for attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds from late spring into early summer.
To ensure Pink Profusion® remains a vibrant part of the landscape, it should be planted in a full-sun location with well-drained soil. It is particularly noted for its reblooming capability; once the initial flush of flowers begins to fade, shearing the plant back to its basal foliage will quickly stimulate a second round of pink spikes for late summer enjoyment. While it is quite drought-tolerant and heat-resistant once established, providing consistent moisture during the first growing season is key to developing a strong root system. In early spring, simply clear away any dead stems to make room for fresh new growth. Its natural resistance to deer and rabbits further cements its status as a dependable, low-maintenance garden favorite.
