VIOLET PROFUSION® SAGE

Salvia nemorosa Violet Profusion® is a standout selection from the Proven Winners® Profusion® series, celebrated for its incredibly high flower-to-foliage ratio and tidy, rounded habit. Reaching a mature height of 12 to 15 inches, it produces a dense canopy of violet-blue flower spikes that completely cover the aromatic, green leaves. Unlike some older varieties that can become leggy or flop, Violet Profusion® maintains a sturdy, uniform shape, making it an excellent choice for mass plantings, low hedges, or as a high-impact filler in perennial borders. Its intense color and prolific blooming nature make it a top performer for attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds from late spring into early summer.

To ensure Salvia Violet Profusion® remains a vibrant part of the landscape, it should be planted in a full-sun location with well-drained soil. It is particularly noted for its "reblooming" capability; once the initial flush of flowers begins to fade, shearing it back to its basal foliage will quickly stimulate a second round of violet spikes for late summer enjoyment. While it is quite drought-tolerant and heat-resistant once established, providing consistent moisture during the first growing season is key to developing a strong root system. In early spring, simply clear away any dead stems to make room for fresh new growth.
