DWARF BLUE ARCTIC WILLOW
The Salix purpurea 'Nana' has many common names: Dwarf Basket Willow, Purple Willow, Arctic Blue Leaf Willow, Dwarf Arctic Willow and the Dwarf Purple Osier. All of them lead to an outstanding rounded shrub with fine textured blue-green leaves on purple stems. Male and female catkins appear in April and hang until May. It is a low maintenance, woody plant that produces white flowers that attract pollinators.
Salix purpurea 'Nana' enjoys full sun in rich, moderate to wet soils. It is commonly found near rivers, streams and ponds swaying beautifully in the wind. It is often used for erosion control.
