Zone: 5SUNTACULAR BLACKEYED SUSAN
Rudbeckia 'Suntacular' is a vigorous, long-blooming Rudbeckia hybrid prized for its exceptionally large, vivid golden-yellow flowers with prominent dark central cones. The blooms are produced in abundance from mid-summer well into fall, creating a bright, high-impact display when many other perennials are beginning to fade. Its sturdy, upright stems hold the flowers well above the foliage, giving it a clean, architectural presence in the garden. 'Suntacular' is also valued for its strong branching habit, which results in a fuller plant and an extended bloom season compared to older Rudbeckia varieties.
Rudbeckia 'Suntacular' has generally good resistance to deer and rabbit browsing. Rabbits may occasionally sample young, tender growth early in the season, but once established, it is usually moderately rabbit resistant and not a preferred food source. 'Suntacular' thrives in full sun in average soil. It is ideal for sunny perennial borders, prairie-style plantings, and pollinator gardens, where its bold color can be used to anchor late-season combinations. Deadheading spent blooms will encourage continued flowering, though leaving some seed heads later in the season can provide food for birds and winter structure in the landscape.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, plant Rudbeckia 'Suntacular' in full sun and well-drained soil, where it will produce the strongest stems and most abundant flowering. It is adaptable to a range of soil types, including average to slightly dry soils once established, and it is notably heat and drought tolerant. Avoid overly rich soils, which can sometimes lead to weaker stems and floppier growth.
