OSO EASY® ITALIAN ICE SHRUB ROSE

Rosa 'Oso Easy® Italian Ice' is a striking landscape shrub rose that offers a sophisticated, multi-colored look reminiscent of a refreshing summer treat. The semi-double blooms feature soft yellow petals elegantly finished with flush pink margins, creating a glowing effect that transitions as the flowers age. Unlike many traditional roses, 'Oso Easy® Italian Ice' is exceptionally easy to grow, maintaining a neat, mounded habit that typically reaches 2 to 3 feet in height and width. This compact size makes it a versatile choice for low-maintenance borders, mass plantings, or decorative containers.

Beyond its visual appeal, 'Oso Easy® Italian Ice is celebrated for its rugged performance and self-sufficient nature. It is highly resistant to black spot and powdery mildew, ensuring the foliage remains a glossy, dark green throughout the season without the need for chemical sprays. Because it is "self-cleaning," it will continuously produce new flower clusters from early summer through frost without any deadheading required. For the best results, it simply needs a sunny spot with well-drained soil and a light pruning in early spring to maintain its tidy, rounded shape.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is well-draining. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Prune in early spring. These are 'low-maintenance' roses. You can prune individually to shape, or, for large-scale mass plantings, you can use power shears to trim them back by one-third to encourage a flush of new, vigorous growth and continuous blooms.
