Rosa Knock Out® Double Red is a mainstay in the modern landscape, providing the classic look of a traditional rose with the rugged reliability of a hardy shrub. It features rich, cherry-red blossoms that are significantly fuller than the original Knock Out®, with additional layers of petals that give each flower a dense, double form. The flowers appear in constant, heavy clusters from late spring all the way until the first hard frost, ensuring a vibrant and enduring display of deep red throughout the season.
The ideal spot for Knock Out® Double Red is a sunny location with well-drained soil. It maintains a very tidy, rounded, and bushy habit, typically reaching about 3 to 4 feet in height and width. This makes it an excellent selection for informal hedges, mass plantings, or as a reliable anchor in a mixed garden bed. The new foliage emerges with a subtle burgundy hue before maturing into a deep, dark green, which provides a beautiful contrast to the bright red petals.
One of the greatest advantages of Knock Out® Double Red is its "self-cleaning" nature, which means it will continue to produce new buds without the need for manual deadheading. It is also famous for its exceptional resistance to black spot and powdery mildew, allowing it to stay lush and healthy even in humid conditions.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is well-draining. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Prune in early spring. These are 'low-maintenance' roses. You can prune individually to shape, or, for large-scale mass plantings, you can use power shears to trim them back by one-third to encourage a flush of new, vigorous growth and continuous blooms.
