REGAL PJM RHODODENDRON

Rhododendron 'P.J.M. Regal' is commonly referred to as PJM Regal Rhododendron. It is an open, small-leaved, broadleaf evergreen shrub with exceptional cold hardiness. It features clusters of purple-pink, lightly-scented flowers at the ends of its branches in mid-Spring. Glossy, narrow green leaves turn a showy purple in fall, which persists through winter.

PJM Regal Rhododendron is an interspecific hybrid that is low maintenance, thriving in full sun to partial shade. PJM hybrids are one of the hardiest Rhododendrons, growing in climates such as the Upper Midwest and New England areas. It enjoys rich, fertile, acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 4.5 and 6.0. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with an acidic fertilizer. Prune after blooming to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
