SKINNY GENES® OAK

Quercus robur x alba 'JFS-KW2QX' PP24442 is commonly referred to as Skinny Genes® Oak. It is a fast-growing, columnar, fastigiate hybrid of Q. Robur and Q. Alba (English and White Oak). It features glossy, dark green, mildew resistant foliage with a very clean summer appearance. In fall it turns an attractive golden yellow. Skinny Genes® is the narrowest oak tree cultivar to date - selected from a second generation seedling of a sister cultivar, Crimson Spire™ Oak.

Skinny Genes® is deer resistant and thrives in full sun in average, well-drained soils. It is a great choice for a tall privacy screen or as a stately focal point in the landscape.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant it in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Prune it annually to maintain a desired shape and promote healthy growth. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
