TWINKLE TOES BETHLEHEM SAGE

Pulmonaria 'Twinkle Toes' is an exquisite early-season perennial distinguished by its dainty, periwinkle-blue flowers that rise above the foliage in mid-spring, offering a lighter and more delicate color palette than the deeper purples of its relatives. The foliage is truly the star of the show, featuring long, narrow leaves that are almost entirely covered in brilliant, shimmering silver splotches. This heavy silvering allows the plant to practically glow in the shade, creating a compact, mounded habit that reaches approximately 12 to 15 inches in height and providing a bright, metallic contrast to the surrounding greenery.

For its ideal spot, 'Twinkle Toes' performs best in partial to full shade, where the delicate silvered leaves are protected from the bleaching effects of the intense afternoon sun. It thrives in rich, organic, and consistently moist soil, though it requires good drainage to avoid crown rot in the winter. 'Twinkle Toes' is particularly valued for its robust resistance to powdery mildew and its ability to maintain a tidy appearance. Maintenance involves deadheading the spent flower stalks to showcase the ornamental leaves and removing any tattered foliage in the spring to make room for the fresh, silver-heavy growth of the new season.
