Zone: 4BLUE DOUGLAS FIR
Pseudotsuga menziesii 'Blue' is commonly referred to as Blue Douglas Fir. This is a great replacement for the Colorado Spruce! It features very showy clear blue foliage and multi-colored cones that add spring and summer ornamentation. It can mature to 25 feet tall with a 15 foot spread. It grows 15 inches a year and has a broad upright habit.
Blue Douglas Fir thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, slightly acidic soil. Protection from strong winds would be beneficial.
