MERICREST NECTARINE

Prunus persica var. nectarina 'Mericrest' is commonly referred to as Mericrest Nectarine. It has soft, pink blossoms in early spring that are followed by medium to large freestone nectarines with bright yellow flesh and fuzzless, yellow skin blushed with red.

The Mericrest Nectarine thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is self-pollinating and its fruit should ripen in early to mid August in Zone 5.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade, and ensure the soil is well-draining. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
