MOUNTAIN SENTINEL® ASPEN
Populus tremuloides 'JFS-Column' is commonly referred to as Mountain Sentinel® Aspen. This native, fruitless, deciduous tree is noteworthy for its silvery-gray bark and upright, narrow, fastigiate form. Ascending branches stay tight to the central leader, rising to 35 feet with a spread of only 8 feet. Its round, green leaves flutter with the breeze and gradually turn a showy bright golden yellow in fall.
Mountain Sentinel® Aspen thrives in full sun in sandy, loamy, evenly evenly moist, well-drained soils. It makes a wonderful vertical accent in the landscape.
