MINI TWISTS EASTERN WHITE PINE

Pinus strobus 'Mini Twists' is commonly referred to as Mini Twists Eastern White Pine. This slow-growing, globose evergreen pine is a great fit for smaller spaces with its twisted and curvy light bluish-green needles that create a soft and unusual texture in the landscape. It is reminiscent of the larger Pinus strobus 'Contorta', but much smaller. It grows about 2-4 inches annually, resulting in a 5 foot tree after 10 years. It has a globose habit when young and grows more broadly pyramidal with age.

Mini Twists Eastern White Pine responds well to annual candle pruning which encourages its compact form. It thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune annually to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
