BENNETT FASTIGIATE WHITE PINE
Pinus strobus 'Bennett's Fastigiate' is a cultivar of the Eastern White Pine, specifically bred for a tighter, more disciplined silhouette than the common 'Fastigiata'. It has a narrow, columnar habit, and stiff, upright branches that are notably resistant to 'snow splay' - a common issue where heavy winter loads cause branches to flop outward. It features soft, long, blue-green needles in bundles of five, creating a lush, feathery texture that remains vibrant throughout the year.
Bennett's Fastigiate White Pine thrives in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is ideal for vertical interest in small gardens, narrow side yards, or as a formal hedge.
