To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in acidic, fertile, well-draining soil, selecting a location that provides partial shade to filtered light to protect the foliage from harsh afternoon sun and drying winds. These shrubs require consistent moisture to remain healthy, especially during the first growing season until the root system is well established. Prune immediately after the flowering period concludes if you need to manage size or remove older stems, which helps maintain a neat shape. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and regulate soil temperature, taking care to keep the material a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
