PIERIS JAP PRELUDE
Grower Notes:

Pieris japonica 'Prelude' is commonly referred to as Prelude Pieris or Prelude Japanese Andromeda. It is a compact broadleaf evergreen shrub that matures in a spreading mound that only reaches approximately 2-3 feet tall. In early spring attractive pendulous clusters of white flowers that resemble lily-of-the-valley bloom and are very showy against its glossy dark green evergreen foliage. Bead-like pink flower buds that set in late summer for the following year add to its winter interest as well as the few red seed pods that occasionally show.

Prelude Pieris thrives in partial sun in slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It benefits from some shelter from the sun.
