BLUE TOTEM SPRUCE

Picea pungens 'Blue Totem' is commonly referred to as Blue Totem Spruce. It is a dense evergreen conifer with a narrow, upright growth habit. Attractive blue-green foliage emerges bright blue in spring.

Blue Totem Spruce thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is considered drought tolerant once established. It is tolerant of urban pollution and will thrive in city environments. It also tolerates environmental salt. Blue Totem is ideal as an accent, especially vertical accent for those tight spots.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
