DWARF ALBERTA SPRUCE

Picea glauca 'Conica' is commonly referred to as the Dwarf Alberta Spruce. The Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a slow growing, dense, cone-shaped, semi-dwarf conifer that features light green new growth that changes to bluish-green as it ages. It usually grows 2-4 inches per year and cones are rarely produced.

The Dwarf Alberta Spruce thrives in full sun in rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a focal point in foundation plantings or in containers. It adds a nice sculpted, formal look in residential landscapes.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize in the spring with a balanced fertilizer to promote healthy growth. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape.
