RED CONE NORWAY SPRUCE
Picea abies 'Acrocona' is commonly referred to as Red Cone Norway Spruce. This fast-growing evergreen conifer features a compact, broad spreading, pyramidal habit that features emerging raspberry red cones in spring, even at a young age. These bright red cones form at the tip of the branches and look quite showy up against the dark green needled foliage. Cones fade to brown as the season progresses and hang on drooping branches.
Red Cone Norway Spruce generally prefers cooler climates and thrives in full sun in slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can tolerate air pollution and wind. Ideal for foundation plantings or specimen planting.
