NORWAY SPRUCE

Picea abies is commonly referred to as the Norway Spruce. The Norway Spruce is a very large and fast growing spruce with a pyramidal habit and a strong central leader. Its pendulous branches have lustrous, dark green foliage.

The Norway Spruce's shallow root system prefers light, moist, well-drained, acidic soils. It enjoys full sun and a cooler climate.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize in the spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
