SPRING BLING™ PINK SPARKLES CREEPING PHLOX

Phlox subulata 'Pink Sparkles' is a standout member of the SPRING BLING® Series. This hybrid creeping phlox is celebrated for producing some of the largest flowers in its class, nearly double the size of traditional P. subulata varieties. In early spring, 'Pink Sparkles' is completely transformed into a shimmering carpet of soft, baby-pink blossoms, each accented by a lighter pink halo at the center. Its habit is more refined and mounded than older cultivars, making it an excellent choice for those who want a dense, uniform look in the garden. Even after the heavy spring bloom, its deep green, needle-like foliage remains attractive, providing a lush, moss-like groundcover that lasts throughout the growing season.

For the most vibrant display, 'Pink Sparkles' should be planted in an ideal spot featuring full sun and gritty, well-drained soil. It is particularly well-suited for rock gardens, slopes, or spilling over the edges of retaining walls and containers. To keep it looking its best, it is a good idea to shear the foliage back by about half immediately after the flowers fade in early summer; this encourages a fresh flush of dense green growth and may even stimulate a light rebloom. Once established, it is remarkably drought-tolerant and salt-tolerant, making it a rugged yet beautiful choice for challenging areas like parkways or stone-lined paths.
