PINK FLAME® GARDEN PHLOX

Phlox paniculata Pink Flame® is a standout member of the Flame® series, specifically bred for its compact, dwarf habit and large, high-impact flower clusters. It produces dense heads of vibrant, fuchsia-pink blooms, each accented by a darker red eye that adds depth and visual interest. Because it stays much shorter than traditional garden phlox, it is an excellent choice for the front of a border or for adding a concentrated burst of color to patio containers. Its sturdy stems are naturally wind-resistant and hold the fragrant flowers upright, providing a lush, carpet-like effect when planted in groups.

To ensure Phlox Pink Flame® reaches its full potential, it should be planted in a spot that receives full sun to encourage the most prolific flowering. It prefers rich, organic soil that is kept consistently moist but well-drained, as this prevents the lower foliage from drying out during the peak of summer. The Flame® series is well-known for its excellent resistance to powdery mildew, but providing good air circulation and watering at the soil level will further protect the health of its deep green leaves. Applying a layer of mulch will help regulate soil temperature, and removing spent flower stalks will keep the plant looking tidy while potentially prompting a lighter second flush of pink blooms later in the season.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in moist, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Provide full sun and deadhead spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering.
