Zone: 4SWAN LAKE® MOCKORANGE
Philadelphus 'ORSTPHILX1' PP35,914 is more commonly known as Swan Lake® Mock Orange. This classic shrub is celebrated for its profusion of elegant white blooms that appear in late spring to early summer, filling the air with a sweet scent reminiscent to grape soda, believe it or not!
Swan Lake® Mock Orange is easy to grow and care for. It thrives in full sun but can tolerate a bit of shade. It enjoys organically rich soil with an acidic to neutral pH. Avoid consistently soggy conditions, as they prefer well-draining soil. Swan Lake® is ideal for adding beauty and fragrance to borders, hedges, or as a stand-alone specimen.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil, choosing a location that provides full sun to light shade for the most prolific bloom production. While adaptable, consistent moisture is vital during the first growing season to support root development. Prune immediately after flowering is complete, as these shrubs bloom on the previous year's wood; removing a portion of the oldest, woody canes down to the ground will rejuvenate the shrub and encourage fresh, flowering growth for the following season. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, ensuring the material remains a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
