MINIATURE SNOWFLAKE MOCKORANGE

Philadelphus x virginalis 'Dwarf Snowflake' is commonly referred to as Miniature Snowflake Mock Orange. It is a dwarf, compact, flowering deciduous shrub that features oval, dark green leaves and citrusy-fragrant, double white flower clusters in late spring. It is a hardy plant that is perfect for small areas and containers.

Miniature Snowflake Mock Orange thrives in full sun to light shade in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Flowers appear on prior year's growth so prune immediately after flowering. You do not want to miss this fabulous fragrance so be sure to place it close to a walkway!

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil, choosing a location that provides full sun to light shade for the most prolific bloom production. While adaptable, consistent moisture is vital during the first growing season to support root development. Prune immediately after flowering is complete, as these shrubs bloom on the previous year's wood; removing a portion of the oldest, woody canes down to the ground will rejuvenate the shrub and encourage fresh, flowering growth for the following season. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, ensuring the material remains a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
