BUCKLEYS QUILL MOCKORANGE

Philadelphus 'Buckley's Quill' is commonly referred to as Buckley's Quill Mock Orange. It is a semi-dwarf, deciduous, rounded shrub with large, fragrant double white flowers in spring that have a orange, citrusy fragrance.

Buckley's Quill is a cold hardy, easy to grow, improved variety of an old favorite. Its quill-like petals is quite unusual and showy for the species. It thrives in full to part sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil, choosing a location that provides full sun to light shade for the most prolific bloom production. While adaptable, consistent moisture is vital during the first growing season to support root development. Prune immediately after flowering is complete, as these shrubs bloom on the previous year's wood; removing a portion of the oldest, woody canes down to the ground will rejuvenate the shrub and encourage fresh, flowering growth for the following season. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, ensuring the material remains a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
