BEJEWELED® LAVENDER SAPPHIRES BEARDTONGUE

Penstemon barbatus 'Lavender Sapphires' is a Proven Winners® standout selection in the Bejeweled® series. It is a highly ornamental perennial prized for its rich flowers and sturdy, compact form. Reaching a manageable 18 to 24 inches in height and spread, 'Lavender Sapphires' displays dark blue-green foliage that creates a crisp backdrop throughout the season. Starting in early summer, strong stems hold clusters of large, tubular flowers with a rosy-purple base transitioning to soft lavender-blue tips. The nectar-rich blooms act as an irresistible beacon for pollinators, particularly hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, making it a valuable addition to wildlife gardens.

'Lavender Sapphires' is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in full sun for maximum bloom production. It requires sharp, well-drained soil. Once rooted in, it can have excellent drought tolerance. It is ideal for pollinator gardens, rock gardens, roadsides and sidewalk borders.
