CHA CHA™ LAVENDER BEARDTONGUE
Penstemon Cha Cha™ Lavender is a sophisticated member of the high-performance Cha Cha™ series, cherished for its airy, romantic color and relentless blooming habit. It produces dense spikes of tubular, soft lavender-purple flowers with pristine white throats, creating a luminous bicolor effect that stands out against its upright mound of narrow, forest-green foliage. Like its 'Cherry' cousin, Cha Cha™ Lavender is a marathon bloomer, starting its display in early summer and continuing to push out new flower spikes well into the autumn, providing a steady nectar buffet for hummingbirds and bumblebees.
Reaching a mature height of 18 to 24 inches, Cha Cha™ Lavender maintains a tidy, mounded shape that fits perfectly in the middle of a sunny perennial border or a large mixed container. It is exceptionally heat and drought tolerant once established, making it an ideal candidate for water-wise or "xeriscape" gardens. Hardy in USDA zones 6-9, it requires lean to average soil with impeccable drainage; it is a "tough love" plant that actually performs better and lives longer in slightly gritty or sandy soil rather than rich, heavily composted beds.
