KRINKLED WHITE PEONY
Paeonia 'Krinkled White' is a masterclass in understated elegance, celebrated for its large, single flowers that resemble delicate crepe paper. This mid-season herbaceous peony features snow-white petals with a distinctively "crinkled" texture, surrounding a prominent, glowing center of golden-yellow stamens. Despite their fragile appearance, the blooms are remarkably resilient and can reach up to 6 to 8 inches across. Standing at a height of 30 to 36 inches, it is a favorite among floral designers for its clean, modern aesthetic and its light, pleasant fragrance.
One of the greatest functional benefits of 'Krinkled White' is its exceptionally sturdy stems, which hold the light, single blossoms perfectly upright even during heavy spring rains. Unlike heavy double peonies, this variety rarely, if ever, requires staking or hoops. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil, showing excellent vigor and disease resistance throughout the growing season. Its narrow, dark green foliage remains an attractive, bushy backdrop in the garden long after the ethereal white blooms have faded, making it a reliable and low-maintenance choice for any perennial border.
