JUNIOR WALKER CATMINT
Nepeta 'Junior Walker' is the perfectly scaled-down version of the famous 'Walker's Low', specifically bred for gardeners who love the classic catmint look but have limited space. Reaching a compact height of 15 to 18 inches, it maintains a tidy, mounded habit that won't flop or split open in the center as the season progresses. From late spring through autumn, it is adorned with a profusion of lavender-blue flowers set against aromatic, finely textured, gray-green foliage. This sterile hybrid is a powerhouse for pollinators, acting as a constant draw for bees and butterflies, while its scented oils make it naturally resistant to both deer and rabbits.
The ideal spot for 'Junior Walker' is in full sun with well-drained soil, as it thrives in hot, dry conditions and can struggle in heavy, waterlogged clay. Its smaller stature makes it a fantastic choice for edging walkways, filling rock gardens, or acting as a durable "spiller" in mixed patio containers. Care is incredibly low-maintenance: once established, the plant is highly drought-tolerant and requires very little supplemental water or fertilizer.
