BUTTERFLY MAGNOLIA

Magnolia 'Butterflies' is a deciduous hybrid Magnolia resulting from a cross between Magnolia acuminata (seed parent) and Magnolia denudata (pollen parent). It has non-fading, rich yellow flowers with prominent red stamens. The flowers have a light lemony aroma and appear early spring. Foliage does not appear until the flowers fall - about 7-9 days later. Foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season. It is tolerant to urban pollution and is cold and heat resistant. It makes a beautiful addition the landscape and is a spectacular shade tree when not in bloom.
