SUMMERBURST® GOLDENRAIN TREE

Koelreuteria paniculata 'JFS-Sunleaf' is commonly referred to as Summerburst® Golden Rain Tree. This beautiful four-season tree has a rounded crown with an open-branching habit. It features stunning summer blooms of large yellow flower clusters. It is the only yellow-flowering tree of summer! Glossy, dark green, heat-resistant leaves are pinnate and feathery, giving off a cool tropical vibe, turning fiery yellow and orange in fall. Attractive bark and lantern-shaped seed pods show in fall, adding to its winter interest.

Summerburst® Golden Rain Tree thrives in full sun in organically fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can be drought tolerant once established and can tolerate urban pollution, adapting well to city environments.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure it receives full sun to partial shade. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and summer months. Prune in the late winter or early spring to maintain a desired shape and promote healthy growth. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
