ROCKETS RED GLARE RED HOT POKER

Kniphofia 'Rocket's Red Glare' is more commonly known as Rockets Red Glare Red Hot Poke. It is from the Pyromania™ series and prized for its exceptionally tall, sturdy flower spikes and fiery, two-toned color display. It forms a neat clump of arching, blue-green, grass-like foliage that reaches approximately 18 to 24 inches wide. From this base, showy, towering scapes emerge, carrying the attractive blooms to a height of 30 to 36 inches. The flower spikes create a stunning gradient effect, as the vibrant, warm red buds open to reveal creamy peach or soft yellow-orange flowers from the bottom up, resembling a fiery torch or a literal rocket's tail. Blooming continuously from early to late summer, it is a magnet for hummingbirds and makes a striking, upright focal point in perennial borders.

'Rocket's Red Glare,' thrives in full sun and very well-draining soil, as excellent drainage - especially in winter - is crucial to prevent crown and root rot. Maintenance is simple: remove spent flower spikes (deadheading) at the base to encourage rebloom throughout the summer.
