KNIPHOFIA JACKPOT
Grower Notes:
Kniphofia 'Jackpot' is more commonly known as 'Jackpot' Red Hot Poker. It is part of the WINNERS CLUB™ series and is prized for its exceptionally long bloom period and striking bicolor flowers. It forms a dense, mounding clump of attractive, grass-like, deep green foliage, from which numerous flower stems rise to a height of approximately 3 feet. The torch-like flower spikes are a vibrant spectacle, starting as buds of bright red-orange and gradually opening to a sunny yellow, which creates a dramatic two-toned effect. 'Jackpot' is lauded for its vigor, reliability, and continuous re-bloom, often providing outstanding color from early summer well into the fall. As a tough, low-maintenance perennial, it adds strong vertical interest to garden borders and is resistant to deer and rabbits while being highly attractive to hummingbirds.
Kniphofia 'Jackpot' thrives in full sun (at least six hours per day). It is adaptable to various soil types but absolutely requires well-drained soil; soggy conditions, particularly in winter, can lead to crown or root rot. To encourage continuous re-bloom throughout the summer, promptly remove spent flower spikes by cutting them back to the base.
