IRIS GER SHARP DRESSED MAN
Grower Notes:

Sharp Dressed Man Bearded Iris (Iris germanica 'Sharp Dressed Man') is a highly acclaimed Bearded Iris celebrated for its striking, sophisticated floral display. It is a midseason bloomer, typically reaching a height of 30 to 36 inches on strong, upright stems. The flowers are a dramatic two-tone of rich, purple-violet: the standards (upper petals) are a deep purple, while the falls (lower petals) are a velvety, near black-violet, creating a stunning visual contrast. This dark elegance is punctuated by a large, bright orange beard, giving the flower a truly "sharp" appearance.

Beyond its intense color, 'Sharp Dressed Man' is a vigorous grower, features attractive blue-green sword-like foliage, and emits a pleasant fragrance. It is highly valued for its performance in garden beds and for its suitability as an elegant cut flower.

'Sharp Dressed Man' requires a location that receives full sun (at least 6 hours daily) and features extremely well-drained soil, as the rhizomes are highly susceptible to rot from standing water. The rhizome should be planted shallowly, with the top partially exposed to the sun and air. Once established, this iris is remarkably drought-tolerant and requires only occasional watering, primarily during prolonged dry periods.
