Zone: 5LUCY ROSE OF SHARON
Hibiscus syriacus 'Lucy' is commonly referred to as Lucy Rose of Sharon. It is a tough, adaptable shrub or small tree that produces double, light red blooms from late summer until mid-fall. It attracts beneficial pollinators such as bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. It is a multi-stemmed, deciduous, ornamental shrub with an upright spreading habit as it grows. It is heat, deer and drought tolerant when it is established.
Lucy Rose of Sharon thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. A nice bonus of Hibiscus syriacus cultivars is the ability to manipulate them into a tree shape for a more formal architectural feature.
