COLOR CHOICE® AZURRI BLUE SATIN® ROSE OF SHARON

Hibiscus syriacus 'DVPazurri' PP20563 Proven Winners® Azurri Blue Satin® is commonly referred to as Azurri Blue Satin® Rose of Sharon or Azurri Blue Satin® Hibiscus. This 'first ever' seedless Rose of Sharon was developed at the Flemish ILVO Breeding Station. It is a Proven Winners® Color Choice® selection. It is also noteworthy for its long blooming and low maintenance habit. It has true blue flowers that bloom all summer long. It attracts all types of beneficial pollinators including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. It does not require pruning or deadheading and is very easy to grow.

Azurri Blue Satin® Rose of Sharon is heat, salt and drought tolerant and thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a specimen plant and along borders. A nice bonus of Hibiscus syriacus cultivars is the ability to manipulate them into a tree shape for a more formal architectural feature.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
