PRIMO™ BLACK PEARL CORAL BELLS
Heuchera 'Black Pearl' is prized as one of the darkest Coral Bells available, forming an incredibly dense, mounding clump of glossy, jet-black leaves with beautifully scalloped and ruffled edges. This exceptional variety is celebrated for its ability to hold its intense, near-black color even when planted in full sun, resisting the fading or browning seen in other dark cultivars.
The large, attractive foliage often reveals a peek of rosy-purple on the undersides, providing a subtle two-tone contrast. Topping the evergreen foliage in mid-summer are delicate, airy wands of white flowers with pink calyxes, rising to 20 inches and attracting hummingbirds. 'Black Pearl' is a low-maintenance, deer-resistant plant that adds dramatic, year-round contrast to containers, garden borders, and mass plantings.
Coral bells are a great low-maintenance perennial and are easy to take care of. They blend well with most perennials and have a low, mounding habit that is perfect for container gardens and tucked between other plants in a shaded garden.
Coral bells prefer partial shade and well-drained, moist rich soil. They do not tolerate clay or acidic soils. You can cut back their flower stalks in fall to direct energy into their foliage.
