Helleborus Frostkiss® Cherisa is a spectacular, late-flowering addition to the early spring shade garden, specifically bred to extend the hellebore season with an entirely new look. While many varieties wrap up their show by mid-spring, Cherisa makes a grand, late-season appearance, showing off unique and refined blossoms. 'Cherisa' features highly sought-after "picotee" style flowers, boasting crisp white petals that are beautifully edged and rippled with bright magenta-pink margins, delicate pink veining, and a soft yellow-chartreuse center. True to the Frostkiss® breeding, these ruffled, three-inch blooms are held proudly outward-facing on stocky, exceptionally rigid stems, so you can appreciate the striking color contrast without having to lift the flowers up. Frame-working this late-spring display is the signature thick, leathery evergreen foliage, which is intricately detailed with a stunning, creamy silver-white marbling that keeps the plant highly decorative all twelve months of the year.
Frostkiss® 'Cherisa' maintains a tighter, more compact footprint than older cultivars, maturing into a neat mound that reaches roughly 15 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. It enjoys partial to full shade with rich, moist, organic soil that mirrors a natural forest floor. Because it is highly adaptable, it handles varying soil types like clay or loam with ease, provided the site has excellent drainage, as it cannot tolerate waterlogged roots.
