Ginkgo biloba 'The President' is more commonly known as Presidential Gold® Ginkgo. This outstanding, seedless Ginkgo sets a new standard among Ginkgos. Selected by plantsman, Dr. Michael Dirr, Presidential Gold® features a strong central leader and full branching when young, developing a dense upright crown when mature. This male clone will not produce fruit and will reach a mature size of about 50 feet tall with a 35-foot spread.
Presidential Gold® thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is one of the most pollution and salt tolerant trees and does well in urban environments. It can be drought tolerant once established.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure it receives full sun to partial shade. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and summer months. Prune in the late winter or early spring to maintain a desired shape and promote healthy growth. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
